Welcome to the Wonderful World of Radnor Crew!
For those of you who are veterans, you've been bitten by the bug and are hooked, you have our utmost respect – it takes a tremendous amount of discipline and energy to row six days a week. For those fresh faces in the crowd, you are about to begin a new, different, unpredictable and always exciting experience – one that is likely to leave a lasting positive impact on your life.
The Radnor Boys Crew Club offers both fall and spring crew for Radnor High School students.
- Fall Crew: Enjoy autumn on the river. The fall season may feature fewer competitions, but it’s a great opportunity to hone your skills and get in shape for the highly competitive spring season. Most Fall competitions are head races, where boats are started sequentially and timed against other boats starting at different times.
- Winter Training: If you’re not participating in a winter sport, this is your opportunity to prepare for regatta season beginning in mid-March.
- Spring Crew: The spring is when the head-to-head competitions start. From the first competition in mid-March through to Nationals on Memorial Day weekend, Radnor Crew is ready to compete!
The RBCC is able to offer a limited amount of need-based financial assistance. Please contact us for more information.
Fall
Fall crew offers both Freshman/Novice and Varsity/JV options. There are no try-outs for fall crew. If you are not participating in another fall sport, you are more than welcome to join the fall program. The fall season is an great opportunity for rowers to hone their skills and prepare for the spring racing season. Please contact us over the summer if you’d like more information.
Winter
Winter training kicks off the beginning of the spring season, immediately following Thanksgiving break. Athletes participating in winter sports are encouraged to join in winter training as frequently as possible. Winter practices will take place Tuesdays through Saturdays during most of December, January and February.
Spring
Most of our regattas occur during the spring season, mostly on the Schuylkill River near Boathouse Row in Fairmount Park. RBCC participates in all of the major regattas, including the nationally recognized Stotesbury Cup Regatta, the largest high school rowing event in the world. We compete in the Varsity, Junior Varsity, Novice and Freshmen events. Varsity letters are awarded during the spring season.
